Hidden columns are used to transfer table data to the client-side, without it being presented to the user in the grid. You can use client-side JavaScript methods to retrieve the value of the hidden fields.

In this demo, although only an ID and Full Name column are shown, the grid has 3 hidden columns, First Name, Last Name and Department. Clicking any cell in the grid will display the contents of those hiddens columns for the specified row in the labels beneath the grid.
